Mayank Dhingra joined HP in June’19 to lead the Education Business Vertical for the Middle East Cluster (GCC, Levant, Turkey, North Africa and East Africa). His role is to provide strategic direction, solution frameworks, commercial oversight, social-capital curation and thought leadership to the Education business line.
Mayank is chartering the next two years roadmap for the division and is focused on engaging with regional education ministries to evangelize HP’s solutions. He is currently spearheading the development of HP’s first Innovation lab in the region, HP’s Digital Classroom ecosystem, helping set up Ethiopia’s model school for talented & gifted students and supporting Egypt’s MoHE on their Smart Universities National Program.
Mayank was previously with GEMS Education where he was the Chief of Staff. The CoS role was to function as the Chief Commercial Officer and provide Executive Leadership, on operational and commercial objectives, to a network of 50 Schools in MENASA region with a revenue responsibility of AED 4 Billion. In addition, he sat on the board of two schools.
Prior to GEMS he was with the Emirates Group for nearly 15 years in two stints and his last role was Head of Global Technology Partnerships where he oversaw an annual spend of AED 1.5 Billion on technology. His preceding role was Head of Customer Experience for dnata (Emirates Group) where he set up the line and managed the business technology, product, pricing and customer service functions across the network.
Mayank previously held various Country Management and Commercial Leadership roles with Emirates Group, Air Arabia, Carlson Wagonlit, Hilton and InterContinental Hotel Group.
Originally from India, Mayank is a hospitality management graduate with post-graduate qualifications from Cranfield School of Management. He has been in the region for over 20 years.
He has been an active mentor for several talent management pools at Emirates – UAE Nationals talent program, SPARK IT talent program, Intelak Incubator program and Emirates Group Toastmaster’s club.
Mayank was awarded the CEO’s Award of Excellence in 2006 for Most Improved Station at Air Arabia. In 2010 his team and he received Platinum Najms at Emirates Group for exemplary revenue performance. And in 2011 he was selected for the prestigious Emirates High Potential Performers program – ELDP.
Mayank is a certified Yoga teacher as well and the founder of a non-profit entity – Yogasmriti; which combines individual and community wellbeing. All proceeds from the initiative are directed to charitable causes supporting children in need.
